You thought you’d heard the last fur issue from Hollywood this year when Christina Ricci was crucified on media. Well her time on the hot seat i done. Move over Cruella de Ville. There’s a bigger person in the frying pan for using dog fur on coats and no one was more surprised than the man himself, Sean “P.Diddy” Combs.
P. Diddy’s designer clothing line, Sean John, had a hooded snorkel jacket that was advertised as having a faux rabbit fur trim. Some buyers noted that the actual jacket had a tag that read “genuine raccoon fur”. Both claims have been proven to be wrong. The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) released the results of the mass spectrometry test which proved that the fur was real, but it wasn’t from a raccoon. Instead the fur came from the raccoon dog. The raccoon dog is not a raccoon. It’s a dog that is found in East Asia whose coat is similar to that of the bandit like animal.
P. Diddy says that he was unaware that real fur of any kind had been used in his clothing line. He had the jackets pulled out immediately. His company has a policy against using real fur of any kind.
