4 Reasons Hollywood Marriages Rarely Last

February 27, 2022 by SplashPress

Once upon a time, divorce was a rare occurrence in society.  However, now, the likelihood of divorce is incredibly high after marriage. It’s even more common in Hollywood couples.

Nowadays, it’s impossible to open up a website or magazine without seeing some beloved A-list couple breaking up.  In many cases, couples we were sure would last forever end up getting divorced down the road.

So, what makes people how they are, and why are Hollywood couples so much more likely to get divorced than the rest of us? Take a look at some of the most common reasons why Hollywood marriages don’t make it.

Work Schedules

Actors and actresses have extremely grueling schedules when filming a project. Apart from the schedule itself being difficult to keep up with, it’s also complicated to maintain a connection from different parts of the globe.

Rarely are movies filmed in the same place where an actor lives. Therefore, when two people find themselves rarely seeing each other, it’s no wonder why they might start to lose their closeness as a couple.

Cheating

Hollywood is known for being a group of beautiful people. Despite how much two stars might love each other, it’s difficult for many to resist the temptation of other co-stars.

When working closely alongside incredibly attractive and well-established people, it’s not uncommon to begin an affair. Everyone remembers Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt in this exact circumstance.

Despite famous couples insisting that infidelity was not a cause of their breakup, unfortunately, statistics show that this is one of the biggest reasons for Hollywood divorces.

Financial Independence

Despite having marital issues, many people admit that they stay with their partners because of the financial security that it provides. Naturally, two salaries are more comfortable to live on than one. If you have a family to look after, it’s especially advantageous to have more money coming in.

However, when you’re making millions of dollars of film-like movie stars, that incentive to stay with your partner is no longer there. If things start going sour in the relationship, Hollywood stars are much more likely to give up earlier on.

Egos

Actors and actresses have a career based entirely on how much the public loves them. It’s almost impossible not to have an ego with so many adoring fans. For this very reason, it’s not uncommon for Hollywood couples to be highly susceptible to what others think of them.

If someone in the relationship is perceived as more famous than the other, they may start to feel competitive with each other. When egos get involved, love can be tainted, and it’s only a matter of time until they head down the road of divorce.
