On Monday it was announced that actress Carmen Electra and musician Dave Navarro are headed for splitsville. Electra’s publicist Brit Reece said that it is an amicable separation, and would not comment further on the reasons for the split despite rumours of Navarro?s ongoing relationship with socialite girlfriend Sarah Howard.
The couple started dating after a blind date, and were engaged in 2001. Their wedding in 2003 was highly publicized and captured all the nuptial action through their MTV reality show, ?Til Death Do Us Part: Carmen & Dave.? It was one of the most talked-about shows in Hollywood that year, as the sexy couple gave MTV an unprecedented look into their personal lives leading up to the day of the wedding itself. Just like any wedding, the to-do-list included all the usual things such as some eye-opening bachelor and bachelorette parties ? Carmen and Dave style. It was the second time around for both parties. Dave (whose resume includes being a Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist, Jane?s Addiction band member and is now co-host of talent competition Rock Star) was married once upon a time to a non-celeb in a Pagan ceremony. Carmen, former Baywatch babe and Playboy Centerfold, has had numerous famous relationships (including Prince), and was previously married to Dennis Rodman for six months in 1998.
With the couple?s racy past and even racier exploits together (nude photo invites by celeb photographer David La Chapelle, graphic sex scenes sold to the press among the list), Holywood certainly is not surprised with the split of these two wild ones.
