She went from an actress in a soap to pop princess and now, she is the author of a book. While recovering from breast surgery, Kylie Minogue wrote a book that she titled “Kylie: The Showgirl Princess”. The children’s editor of the British publishing news, Graham Marks, calls it a “nice, frothy, bubbly confection. The book is a recreation of her last tour and includes pictures and some illustrations by artist Swan Park.
Kylie is by no means the first singer to write a book. The material girl, Madonna, wrote the series, The English Roses, way back in 2003. These picture books are among the fastest selling books of all time, attesting to the attraction of the pop icon.
Kylie Minogue spent time signing copies of her book Saturday and talking to her fans. There were almost 250 fans lined up to meet her at the flagship store of Waterstone on London’s Oxford Street, some of whom had joined a competition to win the right to meet with the singer. The children were very pleased to meet her and describe her as the “nicest person you could ever imagine” as well as beautiful.
Her book is published by Puffin and has been made available worldwide, which will please her fans. Even better, Kylie will be back on the road this November. She’ll finally be pushing through with her Showgirl Tour which got postponed when she was diagnosed with cancer back in May 2005.It will definitely be good to have her back on stage.
