Some experts are predicting the end of the Golden Age of Television, namely how “intelligent” shows have gotten the axe while stations aim for sad trend towards cheap, ad-driven programs.

    It may be a combination of things, but I think the main reason is in fact the strike. The networks found that they could hold viewers with alternative shows (ie. reality shows such as the rebirth of “Gladiators”. Puhleeze! The writers guild are going to have to take this battle further into the coming year and crank out some fine work to combat this trend.
