It seems that after pairing up with Jet Li in the Forbidden Kingdom Jackie Chan is now ready to go south of Asia to India’s Bollywood. During the audio launch of the much awaited “Dasavatharam” Chan delighted the audience and got their on their feet by professing to be a fan of Kamal Hassan and saying that “Kamal, Bachchan and I should work together. I’m an actor, I sing and I fight. When you all find the time, call me here and we’ll do a movie. But only I will do all the romance scenes.”

Hmmm… Does this mean that next time we might see Jackie Chan saving someone in a sari? Who knows? For sure his fans in India will hold him to his word.

Plan on joining American Idol to get rich? Unless you’re going to be among the top contestants you can forget about it. My recent research to find the answer to the question of how much the idol contestants actually make while on the show lead me to these findings:

1. No one is paid anything until they’re on the top 24.
2. The top 24 contestants get paid about $30 a day for food and an additional $500 a week for clothing. They are not allowed to spend the $500 on anything else.
3. They go home empty handed if they don’t make it to the top 12.
4. The longer the contestant stays the bigger the check they get when they are eliminated (this makes sense of course). The top two contestants get a car on top of the money.
5. Contestants get a cut from the compilation album.
6. Contestants are paid a nice enough amount for going on the AI tour. For each appearance they rack up $5000 (per show) and they also get a cut from the all the merchandise sold during the tour.
7. Of course we all know the AI winner goes home rich.

Lesson learned? If you plan on joining AI just for the money you’d better make sure you make it to the top 12!

Yesterday around 35 guests came to Ever After Teahouse in Studio City to have a good time with happy mommy to be Jess Alba. Guests ,ostly gave gender-neutral gifts since they had no clue as to the baby’s sex prior to the baby shower. Before they left they were on the know though because Jessica happily told every one that they are expecting a baby girl come June.

Presents that were given included lots of clothes, Dr. Seuss books, a giant stuffed bunny, flower bouquets, and lots of other high-end stuff. I guess Jess’ baby girl will definitely be living in the lap of luxury as soon as she comes out. Aside from the gifts in yesterday’s baby shower Jess has already been amassed quite a few cool gifts thanks to Tyra Banks.

Last February Tyra asked help from MomLogic to be able to give Jessica a surprise baby shower when she guested in the Tyra Show. Jessica Alba loved all the gifts since she confessed that many of them were the things she was actually looking at and wishing for whenever she went online. With the beautiful gifts given who wouldn’t be happy?

The Revlon mogul is taking Ellen and her brother to court, accusing them of using one of his companies — the film company Applehead I — as “a private piggy bank.” According to his lawyers, the Barkins even set up their own venture called Applehead II, which they funded with his own money.

The tycoon also said that Ellen’s brother gets a $250,000 salary from Applehead I for absolutely no work.

Hollywood movies have made millions of plots involving government conspiracy theory, but tiptoe around the topic of an alleged “agreement” producers have with the US government. Apparently, to smoothe relationships with the Pentagon, they edit “sensitive” villains out of their scripts, veer away from politically-charged settings, and throw in military rescues and “God Bless America and her troops!” themes when they can.

The Hollywood writers guild and producers have reached a plateau in their discussions about pay.

Most Hollywood production outfits have gone multi-media, spinning off TV content to web or mobile. Great for the viewers, but unfair for the writers. They’re seeking additional compensation when their materials are reproduced in new content platforms like DVDs, the Internet, or the mobile phone. If the talks don’t get resolved soon, the writers may call a strike. Reruns, anyone?

The price to pay may be too much for people who have found themselves peaking too early in the world of showbiz. Actors have to put up with a lot of things – from a loss of privacy, long working hours, ridiculously high pay, screaming fans and of course, the papparazzi. Never did Hugh Grant expect though that he would end up in handcuffs with a fan though. Grant was at the premiere of his new movie, Music and Lyrics, in Amsterdam. Suddenly a Dutch reporter, Cielke Sijben, slipped handcuffs on the actor – talk about new accessories.

Grant handled it well. He simply continued to stroll down the red carpet as if nothing happened. The fire department managed to separate him from his companion in about ten minutes though he had to wear his new bracelet throughout the premiere.

As for the Dutch reporter, Sibjen is said to have been placed in police custody immediately after being separated from Grant. A Dutch website, RadioBitches, reports that the 22 year old joined the Dutch TV Network 101 TV in 2006.

It is perfectly normal for women to get pregnant. It happens to thousands of women everyday. But when a celebrity is expecting, people can’t help but go on baby watch. The fans are as excited as if their favorite actress or singer were a close family friend rather than a total stranger they only see from a distance. It could also be that the fans know how big a decision it is for any actress to choose to have a child as it may interrupt their career, if not bring it to a screeching halt.

Still, the fans of Naomi Watts are definitely excited for the star. Now baby watch is up for Salma Hayek as well. Hayek very recently announced both her engagement and her pregnancy. The 40 year actress/producer is now engaged to Francois-Henry Pinolt, chairman of PPR SA (the company owns high fashion houses among which are Yves Saint Lauren and Gucci).

Who else will be added to the expectants list? Many will have to wait and see. Not all the stars like to display their child from the embryo like Demi Moore or Britney Spears.
