Becoming a celebrity endorser is a simple matter. You wear what you are contracted to wear – which is usually given to you for free- for the specified amount of time. So what happens if you wear something from a rival brand? You get sued!
The lawsuit was filed in a New York court. It says that Theron signed an exclusive contract with Swiss watchmaker Raymond Weil. Her contract specified that from October 2005 to December 2006 Theron would wear only Weil watches at all times. Weil’s lawyers have evidence that Theron breached her contract in March of 2006 when she wore a Christian Dior watch in one of her ads for Dior perfumes.
Weil’s lawyers say that her contract also specified that “Furthermore, artist agrees that she will not endorse or advertise watches or jewelry for any other person, entity or company, including for charity.” Yet she modeled a necklace in April 2006 for Montblanc.
No amount has yet been specified or disclosed. It seems however to be a pretty solid case. Charlize really should have watched it.

Actor Ryan O’Neal has spoken up about having been arrested this past weekend. He was charged with investigation of assault with a deadly weapon and negligent discharge of a firearm. The baby faced actor says that it was purely self defense.
O’Neal says that his son, Griffin, picked up a fireplace poker and began swinging it around. The poker grazed Ryan O’Neal a number of times before the actor decided to run up to his room and grab his gun. Ryan O’Neal fired at the banister, scaring his son who had followed him up the stairs and resulting in Griffin’s leaving. Griffin O’Neal’s pregnant girlfriend was brought to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries and discharged.
Ryan O’Neal said that the incident took place after he arrived home with some friends. The group included his former girlfriend, Farah Fawcett, whose birthday they had been celebrating – it was Farah’s 60th. They were also celebrating the fact that Fawcett was now cancer free after four months of treatment.
No one knows what caused Griffin O’Neal to act as he did. He has not been available for comment.

Hollywood and fashion are inseparable. The red carpet is one of the highlights of any gathering of stars and this time was no different. Perhaps the only difference was the fact that the red carpet was on a runway and not outside a premiere or award show.
Called the Heart Truth Red Dress Collection, the fashion show was not only the kick off for the New York fashion week, it was also held to raise awareness of women and heart disease. First Lady, Laura Bush, the national ambassador of Heart Truth, narrated the opening of the charity event. A red book opened up at the head of the runway and Kim Cattrall walked onto the red carpet wearing a beautiful Carolina Herrera gown.
The rest of the ladies who walked down the runway were just as gorgeous and curvaceous. These were real women walking down the runway. The group included actors Angela Bassett and Phylicia Rashad, American Idol runner-up Katherine McPhee, celebrity chef Rachael Ray, astronaut Mae Jemison, athlete Billie Jean King – who got a standing ovation for her stylish and very sporty look complete with sneakers, and supermodels Helena Christensen and Alex Wek.

We’ve had the story of Robinhood told any number of ways. It’s been made into plays, there are cartoon versions of it – Disney’s version even uses animals, and of course there are the movie versions. Who can forget Kevin Costner’s Robinhood: Prince of Thieves or the comedy version Robinhood Men In Tights.
Always though the story has been about the thief and the sheriff is the evil villain. As we all know however there are two sides to any story and at last a version is in the works from the opposite point of view. This time the sheriff is the star of the show.
The film is called Nottingham and it will star the gorgeous Russell Crowe as the Sheriff of Nottingham. He’s getting quite a hefty fee to play this part; $20 million against 20% according to CanMag.com. This film will reunite Crowe with Imagine Entertainment. He previously worked under their banner with Cinderella Man and a Beautiful Mind.
The film is produced by Brian Grazer and Imagine Entertainment.
