After two years, Britney Spears has finally called it quits with husband and rapper wannabe Kevin Federline. The pop princess cited irreconcilable differences as the grounds for the divorce. She filed for divorce the day after showing up unexpectedly at Letterman in a short black dress.

Britney Spear’s first marriage, to childhood friend Jason Allen Alexander, barely lasted 55 hours. Talk about a “quickie” in Las Vegas. It ended in annulment. This marriage at least lasted two years.

This union was anything but a fairytale. The well documented union shows the celebrity and Kevin Federline going from sweet and dewy eyed to simply tearful and full of fights. They even had a reality show, aptly called Britney and Kevin: Chaotic.

Kevin Federline was anything but an ideal prince. Shortly before he married Britney Spears, he split from his girlfriend Shar Jackson who was pregnant with his second child. The general perceives him as nothing more than a gold digger, out to use Britney’s success and wealth to give him a good life and later a career. Prior to meeting her, he was a back up dancer to such artists as Justin Timberlake, Pink and Michael Jackson. His rap/hip-hop CD has not been well received at all.

The pop princess hopes that the divorce will go smoothly and quickly. The papers she filed states that she and Federline have no community assets; which basically means that they had a prenuptial agreement. Britney Spears has chosen high-profile divorce lawyer Laura Wasser who has represented Nick Lachey, Angelina Jolie, Stevie Wonder and Kiefer Sutherland in their divorces.

Britney Spears has asked for full custody of her children – 1 year old Sean Preston and infant Jayden James.

It has been over a decade since their show first went on air but it has apparently not lost any of its charm. Before there was One Tree Hill or The OC, there was Beverly Hills 90210 and though the show may no longer be running on air, it is now available on DVD.

The party for the release of the first season’s DVD was attended by Gabriel Carteris, Jennie Garth, Brian Austin Green, Jason Priestly, Tori Spelling and Ian Ziering. They had originally thought of skipping the launch since none of them stood to gain anything from the DVD’s (their contracts didn’t anticipate DVD’s) but were convinced by Ian Ziering to show up after they all met up for lunch. As Jennie Garth put it, “I wanted to support the show that gave me all I have this day. I didn’t want to be the one who didn’t come.”
The only missing members of the original cast were Shannen Doherty who played Brenda Walsh and Luke Perry who played Dylan. Too bad they didn’t go! It would have been nice to have them all together.
Everyone looked great. The men looked fit and the women looked very well endowed – at least Tori Spelling and Jenni Garth did. It is most likely due to the fact that Tori Spelling is five months pregnant and Jennie Garth recently gave birth to a daughter, her third child with husband Peter Facinelli.

The party also launched the release of the first season of the 90210 spin-off, Melrose Place.

Is he or isn’t he? Hollywood entertainment news seems to be busy speculating lately about which of the celebrities are straight guys and which are otherwise. Neil Patrick Harris is the latest to come under the media’s questioning eyes. Speculation was raised by an article of canada.com saying that Harris had helped his “longtime sweetheart” David Burtka get a part on the CBS hit sitcom he is in, “How I Met Your Mother“.

His publicist Craig Schneider issued a statement just a couple of days ago that Neil Patrick Harris is “not of that persuasion”. It may have been well intentioned but it was definitely misinformed. The actor himself has come forward to set the record straight.

Harris told People: “The public eye has always been kind to me and until recently I have been able to live a pretty normal life”. He goes on to say, “I am quite proud to say that I am a very content gay man living my life to the fullest and feel most fortunate to be working with wonderful people in the business I love”.

Neil Patrick Harris gained fame playing the role of the boy doctor, Doogie Howser. He played the boy genius way in the early 1990′s. Doogie Howser’s diary in fact may have inspired the blog. He has also appeared in various plays including Proof, Rent and Cabaret aside from the TV guest appearances he makes.

Harris is the third celebrity to come out and openly admit being gay. The first to confirm rumors was Lance Bass, former member of the boy band N’Sync when he admitted that he was in a relationship with Amazing Race winner Reichen Lehmkuhl. The second was cutie T. R. Knight of Grey’s Anatomy, who came forward after a fight broke out on the set of the show.

The past couple of months have been a bit rough on Anna Nicole Smith. The ex-Playboy model must be feeling like she is in Lemony Snicket’s Series of Unfortunate Events. life sure seems to have thrown her a bunch of curve balls.

Good news first: She gave birth to a healthy baby girl last September 7. She named her daughter Danielynn.

Bad news: Three days after she gave birth, her son Daniel died. According to world renowned pathologist, Dr. Cyril Wecht, the cause of death was a lethal mixture of prescription drugs. He was only 20 years old. She buried him on October 19 at Nassau Island. His loss was devastating to Anna Nicole.

More bad news: Her former lover, photographer Larry Birkhead, claims that he is the father of Anna Nicole’s daughter. He states that he believes she knows the child is his and she is afraid to come back to the United States since she doesn’t want to have deal with the paternity suit he has filed.

Some Good news: Her lawyer/manager Howard K. Stern came forward and claimed he was the father of her child and that they love each other. They had a commitment ceremony to express their love and strengthen their bonds but no, they did not get married.

Yet more bad news: now everything is happening one on top of the other.

• Anna Nicole Smith’s residency in the Bahamas is being questioned. It’s a simple question of does she indeed own the mansion she lives in. Nobody has brought out the documentation yet to prove that she is a resident so she may get deported. Talk about getting kicked when your down!

• Anna Nicole undergoes surgery for a partially collapsed lung and is being treated for pneumonia as well.

• A report has been filed by a woman named Laurie Payne stating that Anna Nicole told her that Birkhead is the father of her child.

• Birkhead files a law suit in the Bahamas against Anna Nicole Smith and Howard K. Stern alleging that they committed fraud and conspiracy.
