Ellen DeGeneres had Cameron Diaz as a guest on her show last Tuesday. When she asked the Charlie’s agent star if she had any plans of marrying lover Justin Timberlake, she answered with a definitive negative saying that she is a commitment phobe. Commitment is something she fears too much to ever get into. She doesn’t even want a pet.

When Ellen DeGeneres asked Justin Timberlake if she should already pick out a bridesmaid dress, he said she can go ahead and reserve it but then she’d better plan on staying her current size for the next fifteen years. In short - not any time soon. Cameron Diaz has not proposed. They are not engaged nor have they broken up.

Wise choice, Cameron. In a city where marriages can last as short as a mere 48 hours it is actually healthy to be wary of making a commitment. As Cameron Diaz says, she and Justin Timberlake are “kinda like married” already.
Though Cameron Diaz isn’t planning to walk down the aisle, she has no qualms about catching the bouquet. She sees it as a sport so ladies beware. She really wants that bouquet. She already has 12 in her “ego collection” as she calls it. Her strategy: it’s all about positioning. You have to be in the right place at the right time; nothing more.

Cameron Diaz isn’t the only one who has no plans of joining the state of matrimony. The Queen of Talk, Oprah Winfrey, is another advocate of staying out of that arena so Cameron Diaz is in good company.

Hollywood is full of gorgeous and talented men and women. Many assume that in this town where they have so much, fairy tales will come true. Happy ever after would actually happen without need of any fairies or fairy godmothers.

Unfortunately that simply isn’t the case. Wealth and beauty do not automatically bring forth the fairy tale ending that many wish for. In fact, Hollywood has some of the shortest weddings.

Here are some of the shortest celebrity marriages Hollywood has ever seen:

Britney Spears takes home the prize for the shortest celebrity wedding. Her marriage to Jason Alexander barely lasted 48 hours. She said she just wanted to try being married. Did she think it was a dress?

After divorcing Sonny Bono, Cher seemed to have a hankering for the married state once again. So she up and married Greg Allman in Las Vegas. After a mere 9 days she called it quits saying that his drug and drinking problems were a bit too much for her.

Nicolas Cage and Lisa Marie Presley lasted longer. They made it to 3 months and fifteen days before saying I don’t want to anymore. Lisa Marie later married the former king of pop, Michael Jackson, which lasted 20 months.

The latest couple to file their divorce makes it to the list. After a mere four months, Pamela Anderson and Kid Rock are giving up on wedded bliss. Just goes to show that multiple wedding ceremonies do not equal a more united couple.

It has been seventy five years since it was first thought of. It was a simple parade that was intended to help bring business to Hollywood Boulevard. After three quarters of a century it is now a tradition that has attracted about half a million spectators, creating a bigger crowd than that at the Academy Awards.

This year the Hollywood Christmas Parade there are 16 floats. Michael Bolton, some cast members of High School Musical and various marching bands from different parts of the United States will take part in this event. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce says that this will be their biggest show ever - as it should be since it is the 75th anniversary of the event.

This year’s Grand Marshal is Comedian George Lopes and Honorary Grand Marshal is Regis Philbin. They have quite a task ahead of them. It is the job of the Grand Marshal to attract big name celebrities to the event. The previous years show that that isn’t an easy task to do these days. You won’t see Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie in the parade though some wish they would.

Back in the 1920’s it was simply called the Santa Claus Lane Parade. Santa rode in a one reindeer sleigh with a Hollywood star waving to the crowd beside him. The first actress to star in the parade was Jeanette Loff. Now there is no more reindeer, just a lot of floats and some stars and hopefully a lot of fun and music.
Among the stars who have taken part in the parade are Bing Crosby, Mary Pickford, Ronald and Nancy Reagan, James Stewart, Danny Thomas, Stevie Wonder and Lawrence Welk. Former Grand Marshals include Sammy Davis Jr., Charlton Heston, Bob and Dolores Hope, Roy Rogers and Dale Evans and even Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

The parade has expanded to accommodate the increased number of spectators. It now travels along Sunset Boulevard as well as Hollywood Boulevard. Don’t worry though if you are too far away to catch the parade. It gets both national and international coverage so you can catch it from the comfort of your home.

There is nothing like the joy of hearing the pitter patter of little feet; something that supermodel and host Heidi Klum and husband soul singer Seal have discovered. They are now the proud parents of a second son whom they have named Johan Riley Fyodor Taiwo Samuel (yes, he has five names).

The Project Runway host gave birth on Wednesday just a little after five in the afternoon. Baby Johan weighed 8 pounds and eleven ounces at birth. Congratulations Seal and Heidi.

Seal seems to have been very moved by this addition to his family. On his website, seal.com, the proud papa wrote:

“To our children, a brother; to our parents, a grandson; to my wife and I, a son; to our family a blessing,”

He also says that the baby looks like Heidi. Hmmm…a heartbreaker from the cradle.

Together, the couple has a one year old son they named Henry Guenther Ademola Dashtu Samuel. Heidi Klum also has a 2 year old daughter named Leni from previous boyfriend, race car manager, Flavio Briatore. Truly the happy couple has been blessed.

The birth was well timed. Since Project Runway recently concluded its third season, Klum will be able to take a maternity leave and concentrate on being a mom.

According to the German supermodel, Seal finds her the most beautiful when she is pregnant. So does that mean there will be another child in the works soon? If they keep up their current trend, there may be one in March. Fans will definitely be keeping a look out for that.

When Hollywood catches on to a trend, it is normally quite harmless. It usually involves clothes or accessories. They are great walking talking advertisements for their favorite designers.

Some crazes are just plain nutty. For example, Paris Hilton pops out on the scene with her pet chihuahua all dressed up and fed on only the best steak. Suddenly there’s a rush among the young celebrities such as Lindsay Lohan and Brittney Spears to dress their pets, put them on display and feed them Filet Mignon.

That doesn’t come close however to the adoption craze that Angelina Jolie seems to have inspired. She goes off to Cambodia to shoot Tomb Raider and came home with a new awareness and passion. This moved her to adopt a Cambodian boy - Maddox - who is now 5 years old. She has also adopted an Ethiopian girl named Zahara who is 22 months old and it looks like there will be more children added to their family as they may be adopting another child soon.

Madonna insists that Sir Bob Geldof and not Angelina Jolie was the source of her inspiration to go of to Africa for a child to bring home. She chose Malawi native David Banda from the kids she saw in the orphanage. She whisked in and whisked out of Africa and transported him to merry, old Britain. Unfortunately, her adoption is being contested by quite a number of people, including David’s own father. The judge has not yet ruled on whether she can keep David (doesn’t that make the child sound like a pet?) and word has it she’s already looking to adopt a second child.
It is wonderful that celebrities have decided to actively make a difference using their wealth and popularity. Wonder how many more of them will follow this trend?

There is no other way to say it. Michael Jackson’s much anticipated appearance last November 15 at the World Music Awards absolutely failed to live up to expectations. The many Michael Jackson fans were very disappointed with his performance. Thankfully it looks like Jacko himself admits that it is time to move on.

It seemed like he didn’t even prepare himself for this “come back”. His voice was not in good condition. He struggled to hit the high notes and the sound inexplicably disappeared half way through his number. The audience was very unhappy that he did not perform “Thriller” as expected. Instead he sang “We are the World” with a children’s choir. “Boo! Boo!”, went the crowd. Some fans demanded refunds.
So what is next for the former “King of Pop” now that his music career seems to be at a low point? It would seem that Michael Jackson has decided to diversify. He’ll try to make a name for himself in Hollywood.

No, acting isn’t what he’s going into. He wants to go into producing. He wants to make films that can be enjoyed by anyone, irregardless of age.

He has always had great music videos. Hopefully he’ll be able to make great films and shows indeed. You never know. He has after all gone from being the youngest member of the Jackson 5 to achieving a major solo career where he earned the title “King of Pop”.

No matter what happens though, Michael Jackson will definitely remain unforgettable and definitely has a place in our history books.

How timely it is. Justin Timberlake performed his billboard hit song “Sexyback” at the recently held Victoria’s Secret fashion show. The catwalk was a shimmering silver and SEXY spelled out in gold letters at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood, the singer eyed celebrity supermodel Gisele Bundchen as she strolled down the catwalk wearing a lace push up bra, panties and lots of feathers.
The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is an annual event that is normally held in New York. In 2004 however, the show was cancelled following the outrage over the wardrobe malfunction at the Superbowl that year (called nipplegate by most) which Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson were involved in.? So yes, Justin Timberlake is helping bring sexy back.

Speaking of Janet Jackson, many listeners are wondering if Justin Timberlake new song “Give It To Me” is a dig at the female singer. The song is a collaboration with Nelly Furtado and producer Timbaland. It has some pretty pointed lyrics:

Could you speak up and stop mumbling?
I don’t think you came in clear
When you’re sitting on the top
it’s hard to hear you from way up there

I saw you tryin’ to act cute on TV
Just let me clear the air
We missed you on the charts last week
(Bleep) that’s right, you wasn’t there.

This is most likely in direct response to Jackson’s interview with Oprah last September. She discussed the incident at the 2004 Superbowl and pretty much said it wasn’t her fault that the accident happened (without of course stating thet it was anyone else’s fault).

Other than that though, Justin Timberlake is riding high these days. His song “Sexyback” is still in the top ten, holding tightly to the number ten spot . At the same time, his song “My Love” featuring T.I. is the current number one hit. Welcome back indeed Justin!

Warren Beatty has been chosen to receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award for Lifetime Achievement. It will be given to him on January 15, 2007 during the 64th annual Golden Globe Awards. The DeMille awardee is chosen by the Board of Directors of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
The 69 year old actor has already received five Golden Globes including:

Best actor in a comedy - Heaven Can Wait
Best producer of a comedy or musical (twice) - Heaven Can Wait and Bugsy
Best Director - Reds
Most Promising Newcomer for 1962

Previous recipients of this award include Michael Douglas in 2004, Harrison Ford in 2002, Gene Hackman in 2003, Anthony Hopkins in 2006, Barbra Streisand in 2000 and Robin Williams in 2005.

The nominees for the 64th Golden Globe Awards won’t be announced until Thursday, Dec 14, 2006. NBC will be broadcasting the Award ceremony from the Beverly Hilton’s ballroom in January.

Though no nominees have been confirmed yet, a lot of people feel that a possible recipient of a Golden Globe is Annette Bening, Warren Beatty’s wife. Her performance as the lead in Running With Scissors has generated quite a buzz. It will be nice if both husband and wife bring home awards.

Warren Beatty and Annette Bening met in 1991, on the set of Bugsy. They married the year later. Now they have 4 kids. Their eldest, Kathlyn is 14. Their son Benjamin is 12. The younger girls are Isabel who is 9 and Ella who is 6.

It promises to be a great show on Dancing With The Stars. It was great fun watching the celebrities have a great time and shine on the dance floor. It was definitely great entertainment. In fact, they were a surprise in the ratings, ranking below only three other shows: Grey’s Anatomy, Desperate Housewives and CSI.

Tonight is the last night of the competition. It is down to the final two pairs in this show. Who will be the winner of this season? Will it be Actor-TV Host Mario Lopez and Karina Smirnoff or will it be NFL’s Emmitt Smith and Cheryl Burke?

Mario Lopez is best remembered by most for his role as A.C. Slater from Saved By The Bell - which hasn’t been an advantage with the judges. He is however the best technical dancer of this batch’s competitors. His dimples are a built in advantage for him though they can’t guarantee him a win.

Emmitt Smith is better known for his prowess as running back on the football field. He has however surprised the audience, the judges and himself with his dancing abilities. The football player turned out to be a natural dancer. He is really smooth!
Mario has the advantage of being young, agile and sexy. Emmitt has a natural charm, good rhythm and a partner who complements him well. Cheryl Burke does her best to make them look great together as a pair, a skill that only the best dancers have. Of course she is also the partner of last season’s winner, Drew Lachey so this just shows that she truly is talented.

The general public knows that in spite of the fame and fortune, happy ever after isn’t easily acquired in Hollywood. In a town full of actors, it must be difficult to separate the fantasy from the reality. Most marriages that meet or start on set end up on the divorce lane.

Kate Hudson and husband rocker Chris Robinson called it quits early this year. Her advice to all couples thinking of getting married: “Don’t get married if you think it will be a fairy tale’.

Another actress/musician relationship to go down the drain: Heather Locklear and Richie Sambora (guitarist of Bon Jovi). Class act that she is, Heather Locklear stayed quiet about everything even as former friend, Denise Richards, flaunted her affair with Sambora.

Carmen Electra and guitarist Dave Navarro also belong to the list of actress/ musician marriages that didn’t last. The end came after they had a reality show about their marriage.

Hmmm…that does seem to cause marriage failure - having a reality show about your marriage. That sure seems to be the case with Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey. Looks like he couldn’t take it when her career boomed while his sunk out of sight.

No surprise that Britney Spears filed for divorce. It was pretty much on the cards when you title your reality TV show Britney and Kevin: Chaotic. It was a good day for Britney Spears when she finally woke up to reality.

Whitney Houston too finally woke up and got rid of Bobby Brown this year. It took her a long time but at least she’s finally out from under. Hopefully things will be better for her now.

Of course, there are many reasons why couples split up. One reason is when the women become the breadwinner and earn ridiculously bigger amounts than the men. Women really do prefer it if their husbands earn better than they do. Examples of couples that break up of this: Academy Award winner Hilary Swank and Chad Lowe, and recent surprise Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Philippe.

The biggest and messiest divorce of the year so far though is that of Sir Paul McCartney and Heather Mills. She’s even dragging his first wife into it and she’s no longer alive!
