Clay Aiken

It looks like the squeaky clean image of American Idol runner-up Clay Aiken is being put to the test by allegations of one woman.

The author of the so called unauthorized tribute to Clay Aiken is filing charges against the singer and claiming that he has defamed her reputation and conspired with others in order to limit the sales of her book.

The plaintiff, Jeannie Holleman, 50, claims that she is a lifelong friend and neighbor of a Raleigh family that were good friends with Faye Parker who is Aiken?s mother, and took her in when she and her young son departed and left her abusive husband.

Holleman?s book, published in 2005, is called “Out of the Blue ‘Clay’ it Forward”. The book contains interviews from the McGhee family, as well as Holleman?s own recollections and is interspersed with stories that came from Aiken?s fans.

In the lawsuit, which was filed last Friday in Wake County Superior Court, Holleman claims that Aiken, his mother as well as other individuals conspired to defame her and bring the sales down of her book by denying that they knew her, branding the stories in the book as lies and also demeaning the book on various websites dedicated to Aiken.

The lawsuit also claims that one of Aiken?s bodyguards manhandled Holleman at a fundraiser held in Hawaii.

The lawsuit seeks at least $260,000 in damages and asks the court to order Aiken to retract his comments, endorse the book on his official website, write a positive introduction to the book and sell the book at Aiken?s concerts for at least five years.

On Monday it was announced that actress Carmen Electra and musician Dave Navarro are headed for splitsville. Electra’s publicist Brit Reece said that it is an amicable separation, and would not comment further on the reasons for the split despite rumours of Navarro?s ongoing relationship with socialite girlfriend Sarah Howard.

The couple started dating after a blind date, and were engaged in 2001. Their wedding in 2003 was highly publicized and captured all the nuptial action through their MTV reality show, ?Til Death Do Us Part: Carmen & Dave.? It was one of the most talked-about shows in Hollywood that year, as the sexy couple gave MTV an unprecedented look into their personal lives leading up to the day of the wedding itself. Just like any wedding, the to-do-list included all the usual things such as some eye-opening bachelor and bachelorette parties ? Carmen and Dave style. It was the second time around for both parties. Dave (whose resume includes being a Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist, Jane?s Addiction band member and is now co-host of talent competition Rock Star) was married once upon a time to a non-celeb in a Pagan ceremony. Carmen, former Baywatch babe and Playboy Centerfold, has had numerous famous relationships (including Prince), and was previously married to Dennis Rodman for six months in 1998.

With the couple?s racy past and even racier exploits together (nude photo invites by celeb photographer David La Chapelle, graphic sex scenes sold to the press among the list), Holywood certainly is not surprised with the split of these two wild ones.

The headlines glared of yet another celebrity split: The Artist Formerly Known as Married! And so it was. TAFKAP or The Artist, better known as Prince, was indeed served with divorce papers by Manuela Testolini Nelson, his wife of five years.

This was the second marriage of Prince, who was born Prince Robert Nelson (for those of you who wondering if he really does have a last name), on June 7th 1958 in Minneapolis. 29-year-old Testolini Nelson, was once employed by Paisley Park Studios, a recording and production complex owned by Prince. Today, Testolini Nelson runs Gamillah Inc., whose businesses include home accessories (such as scented candles and air fresheners) as well as a production company among others.

Prince was previously married to back-up singer and dancer Mayte Garcia in the mid-1990s. The marriage was annulled just after 2 years. Sadly, the couple had a child who died shortly after birth.

Testolini Nelson and Prince were secretly married in a small private Jehovah?s Witness ceremony on December 31, 2001. The wedding took place in Hawaii, and Testolini took her husband?s name. The couple have no children.

Prince?s lawyer, Alan Eidsness, confirmed that a sealed divorce action was filed on May 24 at Hennepin County District Court in the Prince’s home state of Minnesota.

Its come as no big surprise that Johnny Depp’s latest appearance as the weird and wonderful Jack Sparrow the pirate in Buena Vista Pictures’ Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man’s Chest has been a massive success on its second weekend since release. The summer blockbuster has already set the year’s record earnings of over $258 Million and counting. However, this gargantuan amount does not quite match even bigger sales last year when the same weekend in 2005 saw even bigger box-office hits with Warner Bros. Pictures’ “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” and New Line Cinema’s “The Wedding Crashers.” Produced by uber-producer Jerry Bruckheimer famous for his no-holds-barred action scenes as well as nail-biting tv smashes (like Amazing Race and CSI) , the Disney theme park ride-based film is an epic adventure on the high-seas with even more surprises than the first installment, like a cameo appearance by Keith Richards as Captain Jack’s dad.

Deemed ?a sure thing? in terms of box-office glory, the Pirates movies are now in the process of filming the third installment which is due to be released on Memorial Day weekend next year. Johnny Depp, married to French singer Vanessa Paradis and now makes his home in France, will of course will be back for this, claiming that the part of Captain Jack is one he?ll be very sad to part with: ??..I just feel like I’m not done. I just feel like there are more things you could do with a character like this?so there are more possibilities I think. And he’s a fun character to play. I was really not looking forward to saying goodbye to him.?

Its about everything and everyone on Hollywood!
